Structure of ACCA Course

Your ACCA journey will be divided over the course of thirteen examinations; each semester lasts six months, so it takes 2 – 3 years for students to complete their ACCA examinations in one of the leading ACCA institutes in Hyderabad. There are many ACCA training centers in Hyderabad and some offer 3 month semesters but Guru Academy believes in a student-oriented approach and three months are not enough for students to comfortably complete the syllabus and be prepared for their exams.

Knowledge Level

ACCA knowledge level is the first level you will be required to appear in, this level can be considered as an introductory level to ACCA where the aim is to introduce the students to key accounting concepts that will gradually be broadened as the students progress through their ACCA journey. This level has 3 examinations which are

F1- Accountant in Business   

Accountant in business is the first exam you will be required to appear in your journey towards ACCA qualification. This exam introduces students to the business environment. Students who are not from a finance background can in particular benefit from this course. This course will teach you how what a business really is. What are the factors which affect a business as a whole, how business is operated and managed efficiently and what are the broader implications of the internal and external environment the business is operating in?

F2 – Management Accounting

Management in Accounting is the second exam you will be required to appear in. It is the second exam of the ACCA Foundation level where students will be required to develop management accounting techniques to help support businesses to plan, control and monitor their performance. Students will learn different methods of managing finance within a business organization with the aim of enhancing business performance.

F3- Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting (FA) is the third exam you will be required to appear in the ACCA journey and final exam of the ACCA knowledge level. The syllabus of Financial Accounting (FA) aims to develop understanding and application of basic accounting concepts and the underlying principles of financial accounting and technical proficiency in the usage and application of double-entry bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements.

Once you have completed your Knowledge level exams, then you can progress toward the second level which is the Skill level.

Skill Level: The Skill level comprises six examinations that the students will be required to appear in. The examinations are

F4 – Corporate and Business Law

Corporate and Business Law (CL) is the fourth exam you will be required to appear in your ACCA journey and the first exam of the ACCA skills level. The syllabus of Corporate and Business Law (CL) aims to develop knowledge and skills in the understanding of the general legal framework, and of specific legal areas relating to business, recognizing the need to seek further specialist legal advice where necessary.

F5 – Performance Management

Performance Management (PM) is the fifth exam you will be required to appear in your ACCA journey and the second exam of the ACCA skills level. Performance Management (PM) builds upon the knowledge gained in Management Accountant (MA) exam. The syllabus will examine the understanding to manage the performance of the business.

F6 – Taxation

Taxation (TX) is the sixth exam of your ACCA journey that you will be required to appear in and the third exam of the ACCA skills level. Audit and Assurance (AA) is the eighth exam of your ACCA journey that you will be required to appear in and the fifth exam of the ACCA skills level. Audit and Assurance (AA) will introduce the students to the nature, scope, and procedures for audit and assurance engagements.

F9 – Financial Management

Audit and Assurance (AA) is the eighth exam of your ACCA journey that you will be required to appear in and the sixth exam of the ACCA skills level. Audit and Assurance (AA) will introduce the students to the nature, scope, and procedures for audit and assurance engagements.

This marks the end of the ACCA skills level examination. After this students will appear for their Strategic Professional Level exams

Strategic Professional level

Strategic Professional level has been recently introduced into the ACCA journey, previously this level was called the Professional level and it had 3 compulsory exams which were Governance, risk, and ethics (P1), Corporate Reporting (P2) and Business analysis (P3).

However, these three exams have now been replaced by two exams which are strategic Business Leader (SBL) and Strategic Business Reporting (SBR).

Strategic Business Leadership

Strategic Business Leadership (SBL) is the tenth exam of your ACCA journey and the first exam of the ACCA professional level. This examination aims to mirror the real-world workplace challenges and problems thus allowing the students to exhibit their problem solving and technical skills which they have acquired in the course of their studies.

Strategic Business Reporting

Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) is the eleventh exam of your ACCA journey and the second exam of the ACCA professional level. The aim of this exam is to build upon their knowledge of corporate financial reporting and be able to exercise professional judgment in the evaluation and application of financial principles from a number of perspectives.

There are two more exams which students need to appear in, these are called the optional. ACCA allows the students to choose two out of four subjects for their optional exams.

P4 – Advanced Financial Management

Advanced Financial Management (AFM) is the twelfth exam of your ACCA journey. Advanced Financial Management is also an optional exam. Advanced Financial Management (AFM) will build upon your earlier studies and focus more on advanced financial management techniques. The aim of this exam is to learn and apply advanced financial knowledge in a professional manner to help organizations take financing decisions.

P5 – Advanced Performance Management

Advanced Performance Management (APM) is the thirteenth exam of your ACCA journey. Advanced Performance Management is also an optional exam. Advanced Performance Management (APM) builds upon your earlier studies in particular Performance Management (PM) and aims to give the students a deeper understanding of performance management concepts and methods allowing the students to tackle challenges and different scenarios with professionalism and technical proficiency.

P6 – Advanced Taxation

Advanced Taxation (ATX) is the thirteenth exam of your ACCA journey. Advanced Taxation (ATX) builds upon your earlier studies including Taxation (TX) and aims to give the students a broader understanding of concepts related to different areas of taxation, thus allowing the students to tackle challenges and different scenarios with professional conduct.

P7 – Advanced Audit and Assurance

Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) is the thirteenth exam of your ACCA journey. Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) is also an optional exam.
